Shipping & Delivery

The James C. Smith on-line store ships to most locations within the United States.

Shipping Information

We offer Flat Rate Standard shipping.

Orders shipping Standard are delivered via USPS Priority Mail service, and are typically delivered within 3 business days. Tracking is available with USPS Priority Mail service. We can ship to P.O. boxes with Standard service.

Standard Delivery

All orders received prior to 9:00 a.m. (ET), Monday through Friday, are processed within 1 – 2 business days upon credit card validation. Occasionally, during large promotional events, there may be an additional delay as noted on our Home page. Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding Holidays.

General Information

Payment for the order is in U.S. funds.

We collect certain information from you that allow us to customize and enhance your shopping experience and to communicate with you about our products, services, sweepstakes, contests, and promotions. The Information We Collect

We collect information that personally identifies you, such as your name, mailing address, e-mail address, phone number and credit card numbers only if you choose to share such information with us. We may also keep a record of your product interests and purchases online and in our stores. Whether or not you provide any of your personal information is your own choice. If you choose not to provide the information we request, you may be unable to purchase products or access certain services, offers and content on our Site, or at our store.

Like most websites, our Sites automatically collect and use the data contained in log files. The information in the log files may include your IP (internet protocol) address, your ISP (internet service provider), the Web browser you used to visit the Site, the time you visited the Site, which Web pages you visited on the Site, and other anonymous Site usage data.

If you would like to access, verify, correct, update or delete your e-mail address, mailing address or other personal information with us please contact us the same way. Please note that it may take up to two weeks for your request to become effective. Thereafter, when you make purchases, we may still send you an e-mail confirmation and may need to contact you by phone, postal mail or e-mail if we have questions regarding your order.

Data Security and Integrity

When you submit personal information via one of our Sites, such as a credit card number, that information is encrypted and protected by Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology and stored on servers using standard security procedures and practices appropriate to the nature of the information. However, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect information transmitted on or through our Sites, we cannot and do not guarantee or warrant the security of any information you transmit on or through our Sites, and you do so at your own risk.

Should you discover an unauthorized use of your credit or debit card, you should immediately notify your card provider in accordance with the terms of your agreement with that company.

Changes to Policy

James C Smith Fine Jewelry reserves the right to change, modify or amend this policy from time to time. We will post the changes here. Your continued use of our Sites constitutes your agreement to abide by the policy as changed. If you object to any such changes, your sole recourse shall be to cease using our Sites.

Returns & Replacement

For your convenience, online returns can be made at our store or through the mail. Merchandise may be returned if defective with a receipt. All sales are final after 30 days. Online orders cannot receive price adjustments in our retail store.

On-Line Store Return Policy

Returns with an Original Sales Receipt

Bring the purchase receipt or entire packing slip to our store. Merchandise may be exchanged or a refund will be issued in the original form of payment for price paid when returned within 30 days of purchase. A return/exchange or gift receipt does not serve as an original receipt.

Returns with a Gift Receipt

Refunds over $5 will be issued in the form of a merchandise credit or merchandise exchange for the price paid.

Gift Cards and Merchandise Credits

Gift Cards and Merchandise Credits may be redeemed for merchandise only, except to the extent required by law. Lost, stolen, or damaged gift cards or merchandise credit cards may be replaced for the remaining balance upon presenting an original sale or gift receipt. Merchandise Credits are non-transferable. Merchandise Credits may not be used online.

Mail Return Policy

To mail in your return, including a copy of your receipt along with your contact information and reason for return and enclose it with your merchandise. Customers should use an insured mail service; we cannot be responsible for items which we do not receive. Shipping fees involved in making a return to the Online Store will not be reimbursed. Packages must be returned prepaid; we cannot accept COD deliveries.

Returns with an Original Sales Receipt

For returns postmarked within 30 days of the purchase date, a credit will be issued to the credit card used for the original purchase. A merchandise credit will be issued for returns more than 30 days after the purchase date for the price paid and mailed to the shipping address on the original order. A return/exchange or gift receipt does not serve as an original receipt.

Returns with a Gift Receipt

Refunds will be issued in the form of a merchandise credit (redeemable in-store only) and will be sent to the shipping address on the original order.

Returns without a Receipt

Returns without a receipt will receive a merchandise credit (redeemable in-store only) for the current selling price, and will be sent to the shipping address on the original order.

Order Information

All orders received prior to 9:00 a.m. (Eastern Time), Monday through Friday, are processed within 3 business days upon credit card validation. A shipping confirmation e-mail will be sent to the person who placed the order once the order is shipped.

Please note: All undeliverable, refused or unclaimed shipments will be refunded for the merchandise amount after we have received the returned shipment.

Payment, Pricing & Promotions

For your convenience, we accept all major credit cards: American Express, VISA, MasterCard, and Discover/Novus.

Our Checkout page connects to our server in Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protection mode — a highly encrypted channel. Your credit card number and order information are immediately transferred to a computer inside our security device, known as a firewall, which is inaccessible to non-Sweet Pea personnel.

The protection of your personal information is important to us, and as a result, we do not accept orders via email. We will gladly accept your order by phone at 231-941-3300. Our Customer Service hours are Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (EST).
